The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) announced yesterday the designation of PCol. Criscente Carbonilla Tiguelo as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO).

Tiguelo is formerly the Chief of the Regional Operations Division of PRO-NIR and a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 2000.

This follows after the termination of the designation of PCol. Ronan Claravall as the provincial director on September 15, who will transfer to the Directorate for Operations at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, according to PRO-NIR Spokesperson PLt. Col. Joem Malong.

A turnover of command was held yesterday afternoon at the NOPPO Headquarters.

During the ceremony, Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay expressed his confidence and trust in Tiguelo, the newly designated provincial director. He expects a more effective and efficient law enforcement under the leadership of the new director.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure peace and order in Negros Oriental. With PCol. Tiguelo at the helm of NORPPO, we expect continuity of strong law enforcement initiatives aligned with the mission and vision of PRO-NIR and the Philippine National Police,” he said.

PRO-NIR said in a statement that they are reiterating to the people of Negros Island that the command remains focused on responsive, community-oriented policing anchored on transparency, accountability, and professionalism.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) had also changed leadership due to the ‘career enhancement’ of its former director, PCol. Rainero De Chavez.

De Chavez was replaced by PCol. Dennis Wenceslao, who officially took his office after the turnover of command on September 9.*
