PLt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, former chief of the regional Drug Enforcement Unit, is the new police chief of Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Darroca yesterday replaced PLt. Col. Robert Petate, who was reassigned to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
His appointment as new police chief came several days before Mayor-Elect Joedith Gallego assumes office as the new mayor of Silay City, on June 30.
Before he became the RDEU 6 chief, Darroca also served as deputy police chief of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental.
PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez took over the position of RDEU chief. He used to be the police chief of Sagay City.
Meanwhile, PLt. Col. Necerato Sabando took over the command of Hinigaran Police Station from P/Capt. Ryan Villasario, who was transferred to NOCPPO headquarters, according to deputy provincial spokesperson, PLt. Abegael Donasco.
The turnover rites were held yesterday at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, presided over by PCol. Leo Pamittan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental.*
