A retired police colonel is the new security chief of the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II yesterday confirmed that retired police Col. Allan Servida was appointed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson as Executive Assistant IV, tasked to supervise the overall security of the provincial government facilities.
A week after being hired, Diaz said Servida is now getting to learn the ropes of everything, visiting each and every facility, assessing the security risks.
We should help him to cope up with the demands of his work, he added.
On the other hand, Diaz expressed his dismay on the vandalization of Capitol Lagoon and Park comfort rooms in Bacolod City, which reportedly involved minors.
The newly renovated airconditioned male and female comfort rooms were inaugurated last month by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.
Diaz underscored the critical need for citizens to view public infrastructure as their own.
“Individuals often fail to recognize that facilities like the CR (comfort room) are communal assets. They should embrace ownership, treating these spaces as their personal property, as they are the primary beneficiaries,” he stressed.
To pre-empt future acts of mischief, Diaz ordered heightened vigilance among facilities personnel.
He also ordered the immediate repairs of destroyed door knobs, dislodged tiles and the comfort room water tank.*
