The local government of San Carlos City turned over a newly completed one-unit single-storey Home Economics Building to Natuyay Elementary School in Barangay Codcod on July 13.

The project had a budget of P2,325,000 under the Special Education Fund Cy 2021 and was constructed from February to June 2022.

Anthony Liobet, Schools Division Superintendent, said he is very thankful to city officials for the constant support they provide to the Department of Education. He also said that the DepEd is very fortunate because the government officials are very supportive of the DepEd’s needs where the recent project is just one of the many proofs.

Liobet and Engr. Rodney Flores of City Engineering Department led the ceremonial cutting of ribbon witnessed by Dennis Develos, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent; Daisy Lapitan, Public School District Supervisor; Ruth Ocag, head teacher of Natuyay ES; Rev. Fr. Mark Anthony Ongos of Our Lady of the Mountain Quasi Parish of Sitio Tuod, Barangay Codcod; and school principals and head teachers of other schools.

During the event, teachers of Natuyay ES, and DepEd staff, with Engr. Flores, also planted 50 cacao seedlings in the school garden.*
