The National Food Authority in Negros Occidental announced yesterday that it is now ready to buy palay from farmers in the province.
NFA Negros Occidental branch manager Epifanio Cosca said the agency will buy clean and dry palay at P19 per kilo.
Cosca said farmers who are interested to sell their palay may contact the warehouse supervisors about the agency’s palay procurement program.
The NFA has set up buying stations in Bacolod, San Carlos, and Ilog to assist farmers.
Buying stations in Bacolod are at the GID warehouse beside the NFA compound that is being supervised by Marah Cagayan, and at JJ warehouse at the Bredco port supervised by Ronald Aluyen.
Farmers from central Negros Occidental may contact Cagayan at 0927-0835008 or Aluyen at 0939-6984160.
Farmers in southern Negros Occidental may sell their palay at the Gequillana warehouse in Brgy. Dancalan, Ilog, or contact warehouse supervisor Maverick Misajon at 0915-6706090.
Those in northern Negros Occidental may inquire from Jose Porferio Lesidan II, supervisor of DTY warehouse at Edrina Street in San Carlos, via 0917-3018452. Cosca said farmers may also inquire at the NFA office in Bacolod City, or call 434-4954.*
