Committed to Building Better and More (BBM) housing for the Filipino people, National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai conducted a site inspection of various housing projects in Silay and Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, on October 13.

According to a press release, Tai met with NHA Region VI Manager during the project inspection. Engr. Rizalino Cabahug discussed his plans to improve the quality of housing projects in the region.

Among the projects visited by the GM were Ledesma Residences Site 1 and 2, Bonbon Village Phase 2 and 3, both in Silay City, Masskara Village in Bacolod City, and Vista Alegre Homes in Talisay City.

Ledesma Residences 1 and 2 are NHA projects under its Calamity Housing Program intended for the 1,992 survivor families of Typhoon Yolanda, comprising a single-storey row house measuring 26 sqm floor area.

The Bonbon Village Phase 3 is a land development project of the NHA under its Resettlement Assistance Program for the Local Government Units (RAP-LGU), wherein the Authority has provided a P24 Million funding assistance to LGU. The housing units were constructed by Habitat for Humanity.

On the other hand, the Masskara Village and Vista Alegre Homes are NHA housing projects under its Government Employees Housing Program (GEHP). It shall benefit the government’s 1,240 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Tai said that the NHA, under his leadership, would finish all projects under the Yolanda Housing Program before the end of the Marcos administration. He added, “NHA shall continuously partner with the local governments and other agencies to expedite its project completion.”

Likewise, the GM’s ocular inspection of housing projects across NHA sites is part of his promise to complete the inventory of all available and unoccupied housing units of the NHA and to prepare for immediate disposition of the said housing.

Meanwhile, Tai joined the ceremonial raffle of 26 housing units at Ciudad Felisa, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The units are raffled off to 13 applicants who are Philippine National Police (PNP) members.

Similarly, he distributed Certificates of Lot Awards to 15 other PNP officers during the site visit.*
