The Bayawan City Police Station (CPS) successfully arrested the third most wanted rape suspect in Negros Island Region on Friday at Barangay Ubos, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.
The arrested individual was identified as “Tongtong,” 36, married, and a resident of Brgy. Tinago in the city.
The accused is listed as top 3 Most Wanted Person at the regional level, most wanted at the provincial and city level.
The accused was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for rape by sexual assault, with bail recommended at P200,000.
Further investigation revealed that the accused has other standing warrants of arrest including acts of lasciviousness, rape by sexual assault, and rape.
The arrested person is currently under the custody of Bayawan CPS for proper documentation and disposition.
With the apprehension, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) Officer-in-Charge PCol. Timmar Alam, in a statement commend the law enforcers for their unwarranted commitment to “pursue justice and protect our communities.”
