Police Regional Office Negros Island Region has successfully apprehended the region’s 7th most wanted person during a manhunt operation conducted by Binalbagan Municipal Police Station on Wednesday at Purok Punta, Barangay San Juan.
The arrested man was identified as the 43-year-old married tricycle driver named by the alias “Ram,” a resident of the area.
The suspect was apprehended by virtue of the warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, accusing the suspect of five counts of statutory rape, and will be penalized under Art. 266-A Par. (D) of the RPC, with no bail recommended.
Police said that upon apprehension, the accused was duly informed of his constitutional rights in a language he fully understood.
The accused are currently under the custody of Binalbagan MPS for proper legal disposition.
With the success against criminality, Police Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay expressed his commendation to the operating teams for their exemplary dedication, professionalism, and teamwork that led to the successful apprehension of the wanted individual.
