The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) successfully apprehended a sexual predator who was tagged as the region’s most wanted person in Talisay City, on Monday, September 29.
Apprehended was identified as alias “Boy-Boy,” a 39-year-old male motorcycle mechanic and a resident of Purok Sapa Nacab, Barangay Bubog, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
He was accused of and will face criminal sanctions for violation of six counts of Statutory Rape under RA 11648, with no bail recommended and for three counts of Lascivious Conduct for violating RA 7610, with bail recommended fixed at P180,000 each, police said.
The charges stemmed from allegations that the accused sexually assaulted his minor neighbor on different occasions.
On September 22, the accused was detained inside the custodial facility of Talisay Component City Police Station for a separate violation of sexual abuse in relation to RA 7610.
Meanwhile, the warrant of arrest for his past cases were served inside the said custodial facility where he was temporarily detained for another charge against him.
The recent accomplishment was described by the police as a “significant law enforcement victory.”
“This accomplishment is a clear manifestation of PRO NIR’s strengthened efforts to bring justice to victims of crimes and ensure that fugitives, no matter how long they hide, will eventually face the consequences of their actions,” Police Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay said in a statement.
Furthermore, the police urged the public to be vigilant and cooperative, by working hand in hand with law enforcement and reporting unlawful activities, every citizen contributes to building a safer and more peaceful region.*
