NIR’s most wanted person arrested

• RICHARD T. CABALLERO JR.

In its campaign to bring fugitives into justice, the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) successfully arrested the Negros Island Region’s most wanted person on Thursday at Hacienda Santa Catalina, Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The operation, headed by the Talisay Component City Police Station, led to the apprehension of the accused, identified as the 36-year-old farm caretaker alias ‘BoyBoy,’ who was nabbed inside his residence.

Police said that the accused was arrested for violation of the crime Act of Lasciviousness, which falls under RA7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The case followed after the accused allegedly dragged a minor into a sugarcane plantation, committed lascivious acts against her, and threatened to kill her if she reported the incident.

With the recent victory against crime, PRO-NIR reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to fight all forms of criminality, demonstrating that no fugitive can evade the long arm of the law.

“This accomplishment reflects not only the skill and dedication of the police operatives but also the resolve of PRO NIR to ensure that those who threaten peace and security are held accountable,” it said in a statement, assuring the public that it will remain relentless in pursuing justice, protecting the community, and maintaining peace and order across the region.

The accused is currently under the custody of Talisay CCPS for proper legal disposition.*
