The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Negros Island Region (BJMP-NIR) has issued a statement that no fees are required at any stage of their recruitment processes.
This clarification comes in response to recent complaints from applicants who alleged that they were asked to pay certain amounts to proceed with their applications.
In their statement, the BJMP-NIR emphasized that no fees, in any form, are collected or demanded during the application, examination, processing, or selection phases.
“All recruitment activities are conducted with the utmost transparency and integrity, in full compliance with civil service and BJMP recruitment guidelines,” the agency stated.
The bureau also warned applicants to remain vigilant against individuals or groups who falsely claim they can facilitate or guarantee entry into the BJMP in exchange for money or favors.
Through a Facebook post, the BJMP-NIR Recruitment Office urged the public: “Do not trust anyone offering assistance with our recruitment processes in exchange for money or gifts. If someone contacts you with such offers, please send us a message.”
Authorities stress that such acts are illegal and constitute fraud. Anyone who encounters or has information about recruitment-related scams is urged to report the matter immediately to the nearest BJMP office or relevant authorities.
“The BJMP-NIR does not authorize any person to solicit payments, process applications outside official channels, or promise preferential treatment,” the statement added, advising applicants to only transact with officially designated BJMP personnel and to rely solely on announcements issued through legitimate BJMP communication platforms.
JCSupt. Brendan Fulgencio, Regional Director of the BJMP-NIR, affirmed that the bureau maintains a fair and integrity-driven recruitment process.
He emphasized that only qualified and deserving individuals are admitted into the service and warned that “those found soliciting payments will face appropriate sanctions.”*
