Overseas Filipino Workers and Returning Overseas Filipinos are no longer required to undergo extended 7-day home quarantine upon arrival in Bacolod City and will only need to finish their mandatory 14-day isolation, Councilor Israel Salanga said.
Salanga, who is in charge of the returning ROFs and OFWs, said that when Bacolod residents from abroad arrive in the country, they will be quarantined in Manila and will be swabbed on the fifth day.
He stressed that OFWs, or those who are members of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration who yield negative result of Coronavirus 2019 disease the following day, will be scheduled for a sweeper flight to Bacolod by the agency.
Salanga also said that ROFs or those who are non-OWWA members, will need to coordinate with his office for the submission of several documents before they will be given a notice of acceptance.
Non-OWWA members are advised to email their flight details to Bacolod, Reverse transcription polymerase chain test showing that they are free from COVID-19 taken three days before arrival in the city, passport, baCKtrak ID and contact details including their address in Bacolod to israelsalangga.bcd@gmail.com.
Salanga said that they may also request their letter of acceptance from Ian de la Torre and Leonisa Mae Tomas at hotline numbers 09301337332, 0961655 1745 and 435 3604
If they do not manifest symptoms, returning Bacoleños from abroad will be allowed to go home upon arrival in Bacolod where they will finish the remaining days of their 14-day isolation, he said.
But those who came from South Africa, are still required to have an additional 7-day and home quarantine on top of the 14-day mandatory isolation based on the Executive Order issued by Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Salanga also said.*
