The waiting game is still on for local government employees.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said that the Department of Budget and Management, as well as the Department of Interior and Local Government, have yet to release the guidelines for the payment of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for local government employees.
DBM and DILG said they will release the guidelines on August 29 this year. But they never did, Lacson said.
But the DBM has earlier approved the release of P3.9 billion PBB for 225,545 qualified personnel of the Philippine National Police.
Under the approved release, each qualified PNP official and personnel will receive a PBB equivalent to 45.5 percent of their monthly basic salary as of December 31, 2023.
Lacson said he is hoping that the bonus will be released during the yuletide season celebrations, as an additional Christmas bonus for the employees.
The much-awaited incentive is expected to provide real relief to the families of Negros Occidental provincial government employees — a boost to their household budgets, tuition for their children, or additional funds for daily necessities.*
