While other local government already started to implement “No Vaxx, No Entry” in their respective government building and offices, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said that he has no plans to implement it at the Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City.
The city government of Sagay announced on its Facebook account that they are now requiring all employees and visitors of its City Hall to be vaccinated first in order to gain entry to the premises.
Mayor Salvador Escalante made vaccination a requirement for all public transport drivers and operators. City employees in public markets and city-owned buildings or facilities need to be vaccinated to be allowed entry.
Escalante added that passenger buses driven by unvaccinated persons and those without valid negative test results would be prevented from entering Cadiz City.
As for the Provincial Capitol Building, Lacson said “We haven’t decided if we will disallow the public to enter the Capitol premises if they are not vaccinated.”
Lacson added they are still discussing if they need to implement a mandatory vaccination policy for all provincial government employees.
Lacson said he wants to know how many employees are still unvaccinated.
“I like to think that it is a small number already,” he added.
Lacson recently issued an order prohibiting the entry of minors at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park, noting the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province.*
