The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is expecting a reshuffling of the municipal and city’s Chief of Police (COP), following the change of leadership in the provincial police.
NOCPPO Spokesperson PCapt. Judesses Catalogo disclosed yesterday that the COPs had already convened after the designation of the new provincial director, PCol. Dennis Wenceslao.
After Wenceslao formally assumed his position on September 9, Catalogo said that in terms of leadership, there will be a possible revision and reshuffling of the police commanders, depending on the decision of the new director.
“All commanders had convened with the provincial director, and it is natural that in terms of leadership we are expecting that (reshuffling of COPs), but no commander had been relieved as of the moment,” Catalogo said as he was expecting that the director will shuffle the current lineup of police commanders.
Catalogo also disclosed that there will be a revision on the chairmanship of the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Talisay, which was established by the former director PCol. Rainero De Chavez to solve the series of dead bodies found in Talisay City.
Based on the Catalogo, only the PD is qualified to sit as the chairman of the SITG.
“There will be revision because the chairman, (PCol. De Chavez) was relieved. Due to that, the group cannot take action with the absence of the chairman,” he said, citing the immediate assumption of chairmanship by Wenceslao.
He clarified that there will be no revision of SITG membership, only in the chairmanship.
“There will be replacement; he (Wenceslao) will have full control and command of all the moves within the SITG Talisay, and he will have control over the investigation,” he added.*
