In intensified anti-drug operations, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office conducted four separate buy-bust operations across the province, leading to the recovery of at least P496,000 worth of suspected shabu and the apprehension of five drug personalities on Monday.
An operations was conducted in Purok Maninihon, Barangay Miranda in Pontevedra, where alias “John,” a 36-year-old jobless man, was arrested as the police were able to seize at least 26 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P176,800 from his possession.
In Kabankalan City, the police confiscated at least P108,800 worth of suspected shabu that led to the arrest of the suspect identified as alias “Jim,” 32-years-old and a resident of Barangay 6 in the city. Moreover, another drug individual named as alias “Bon-Bon,” a 32-year-old male, was arrested in Himamaylan City, where the same amount of shabu was recovered.
Another buy-bust operation was conducted by the Victorias City Police Station, where alias “Marlon,” 29-years-old, was arrested, and 15 grams of suspected shabu amounting to P102,000 was confiscated by the authorities.
All suspects will face criminal charges in violation of RA 9165, or the Dangerous Drug Act, while the recovered items were brought to the Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
BACOLOD
On the same day in Bacolod City, a jeepney driver and a fish vendor were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The suspects were identified as Reagan Perez, 38, a jeepney driver and resident of Brgy. Handumanan, and Rolando Padilla, 40, a fish vendor and resident of Brgy. 22.
Recovered from their possession were at least 100 grams of suspected shabu in sealed transparent sachets, with the standard drug price of P680,000.*
