The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) topped the list among provincial and highly-urbanized city police stations in Western Visayasin terms of the accounting of fugitives with pending arrest warrants issued by various courts.
Of the 468 wanted persons, NOCPPO was able to effect the arrests of 242 fugitives, while the Bacolod City Police Office apprehended 50 others, for the month of February.
Last month, NOCPPO also topped the campaign against wanted persons in the region.
Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6, disclosed that the number of arrested wanted persons in Region 6 increased by 24.8 percent, compared to 375 in January.
Of the 83 Most Wanted Persons apprehended, NOCPPO has the greatest number of arrests with 23, followed by BCPO with 20.
NOCPPO also ranked number one in serving arrest warrants to 219 Other Wanted Persons.
PBrig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, regional police director of Western Visayas, encouraged all PRO 6 units to continue the tracking of still at-large wanted persons, for them to answer the crimes they committed.
