NOCPPO tops WV campaign vs wanted persons

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office topped the campaign against wanted persons, arresting 1,641 fugitives with pending arrest warrants, during the first six months of 2024.

On the other hand, the Bacolod City Police Office accounted for 236 wanted persons in the same period, according to a report of the Police Regional Office 6.

Among the fugitives arrested by NOCPPO, 138 were categorized as Most Wanted Persons (MWP) and 1,513 as Other Wanted Persons (OWP).

For the BCPO accomplishments, 45 were categorized as MWP, the report added.

Most Wanted Persons are those facing heinous cases while other wanted persons are involved in minor cases, according to the Philippine National Police.

All over Western Visayas, the PRO 6 reported to have accounted for 3,004 wanted persons, with 512 of them categorized as MWP.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, lauded the efforts of all police commanders for their persistent endeavor and commitment demonstrated in the campaign against wanted persons.

“It is our goal to bring these fugitives to justice,” Wanky said.

On the arrest of MWPs, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has the highest number with 139, NOCPPO – 138; Capiz PPO – 49; Iloilo City Police Office – 48; BCPO – 45;  Antique PPO – 44; Aklan PPO – 28, Guimaras PPO – 11; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) – 9, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) with 1 arrest.

For OWPs, Negros Occidental PPO had  most arrests with 1,153; Iloilo PPO – 462; BCPO – 191, ICPO – 177; Antique PPO – 165, Aklan PPO – 131, Capiz PPO – 123, Guimaras PPO – 62, RMFB6 – 15, and CIDG-RFU6 with 13.*
