In a demonstration of police response through competition, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) was hailed as the first-ever champion at the inaugural Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) Challenge.
The event was held at Maringal Hall in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano, Sr., Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City on Friday, tested the capabilities and efficiency of the region’s three provincial police offices in swift response scenarios.
The competition showcased law enforcement strengths in various areas, including 911 call handling, radio communications, drone operation, body-worn camera proficiency, and EMPO management skills.
NOCPPO emerged victorious over the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office and the Siquijor Police Provincial Office, demonstrating their agility and readiness in handling emergency situations across the province.
A statement released by NOCPPO Director PCol. Dennis Wenceslao commended his personnel, emphasizing that the victory “reflects the hard work, discipline, and unwavering commitment of every member of our team.”
“I am grateful for the support of my personnel and the leadership of PRO NIR. This achievement motivates us to continue striving for excellence in serving the people of Negros Occidental and the entire region,” Wenceslao stated.
The competition also served as a reminder to all participating offices of the importance of swift action, clear communication, and strict adherence to operational procedures during law enforcement operations.
The event aimed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each provincial office, with the goal of enhancing communication, refining strategies, and ensuring readiness as first responders in times of crisis.*
