The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative announced that its rates this August have decreased by P0.2180 per kilowatt hour (kWh).
Paul Almedelia, Noneco corporate planning department manager, said the residential rates for this month’s billing is P9.7611 per kWh from P9.9791 per kWh in July.
The lower rates were attributed to the P0.2495 per kWh decrease in the generation charge and P0.0123 per kWh drop in other charges, such as the value-added tax, he said.
However, he noted a slight increase in the transmission and system loss charges at P0.0438 per kWh.
Noneco covers consumers in the north, from E.B. Magalona to San Carlos City.
Earlier, the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative also announced a decrease by P0.5395 in its residential rates this August, from July’s billing of P9.1617 per kWh to P8.6222 per kWh.
Noceco serves consumers in the south, from Pulupandan to Hinoba-an.
The Central Negros Electric Cooperative has yet to announce its power rates for this month.*
