NPA admits killing ex-comrade turned CAFGU

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The New People’s Army Roselyn Jean Pelle Command, which is categorized by the Philippine Army as a dismantled rebel guerilla front in northern Negros, has issued a statement claiming the death of their former comrade, who later served as a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU).

In a statement, Ka Cecil Estrella claimed that the victim, Eduardo Continedo Baynosa Sr., who used to be a member of the NPA, whom she also linked to illegal activities, was a “traitor” of the revolutionary movement.

Baynosa was killed last month by the NPA in Sitio Quarry, Brgy. Poblacion, Toboso.

Estrella further accused Baynosa of having been an Army intelligence operative, aside from being a CAFGU member, citing the recovery of his CAFGU identification card and a mission order issued by the Philippine Army.

The RJPC NPA has been declared as dismantled by the Philippine Army, since it has already at least 10 remaining members, who are now the subjects of the focused operations of the 79th Infantry Battalion in northern Negros.*
