The Mt. Cansermon Command of the New People’s Army issued a statement claiming responsibility for the death of a farmer they accused as a military asset on May 25 in Sitio Colihao, Brgy. Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Rebel spokesman Ka Dionesio Magbuelas accused Raul Enmacino of having been among the suspects in the killing of two NPA members on April 1 last year, when Elbert Nicholas Quillano, alias Carding, and Jessa “Ka Clea” Quillano, were both staying at his residence when the incident took place.

Military records showed that Quillano, a platoon leader of the Central Negros 2, and his wife, Jessa, a medical officer of the same unit, died in an encounter with 94IB,

Army soldiers recovered from the encounter site a caliber .45-caliber pistol with ammunition, a Lenovo computer tablet, a Baofeng hand-held radio, two mobile phones, assorted medicines, and subversive documents.

Enmacino was working in a rice field near his residence, when he was approached and shot without any provocation by two armed suspects, according to the police.

The wife of the victim identified the assailants of her husband, as NPA members, through photographs presented to her.

Magbuelas claimed that based on the investigations of the revolutionary court, Enmacino was proven to participate in the death of the Quillanos.*
