The Apolinario Gatmaitan Command of the New People’s Army ordered all its guerilla fronts to launch widespread tactical offensives against government troops in Negros Island.
In a statement, rebel spokesperson Ka Maoche Legislador said the widespread tactical offensives against troops on the island is to make them pay dearly for their crimes and blood debts to the people.
Legislador also said that cases related to what he claims are the extra judicial killing of Rogelio Posadas, a consultant of the National Democratic Front, and the abduction and enforced disappearances of Lyngrace Marturillas, Denald Mialen, and Renel De los Santos, have already been filed in the Revolutionary People’s Court in Negros.
The Philippine Army maintained that Posadas, who chairs the Komiteng Rehiyonal Negros/ Cebu/Bohol/Siquijor, died in an encounter with soldiers in Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan.
Legislador further alleged that Posadas, Marturillas, and the two habal-habal drivers were abducted along the highway of Barangay Aranda going to Barangay Camalo-balo in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on April 19, citing accounts of witnesses.
The issued statement of AGC-NPA also ordered its guerilla units to defend the people of Negros from massive and sustained focused military operations while implementing the comprehensive work of armed struggle, agrarian revolution, and mass base building and strengthening of the organs of political power.*
