The Roselyn Jean Pelle Command of the New People’s Army (RJPC-NPA) has claimed responsibility for the execution of a man they identified as a gun-for-hire in Sitio Lumanab, Barangay Dian-ay, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, February 26.
The victim, identified as alias ‘Bigboy,’ was reportedly targeted at approximately 9:10 a.m. in what the rebel group described as an implementation of revolutionary justice issued by their own internal court.
The group released a statement justifying the killing by citing a list of alleged crimes committed by the victim over several years.
According to the RJPC-NPA, Ferrer was a member of a local gun-for-hire syndicate responsible for multiple killings in the area and directly implicated in the murder of a farmer several years ago.
The group accused alias ‘Bigboy’ of leading a long-running livestock theft operation that had plagued the local community.
Beyond criminal allegations, the rebel command labeled the victim as an active military intelligence asset.
They claimed he had been guiding military operations and identifying residents as NPA supporters since 2016, which the group says resulted in widespread harassment and fear among the locals.*
