The Negros Press Club (NPC) is one with the media groups in the country in commemorating the 15th year of the Ampatuan Massacre in Maguindanao.
The gruesome killings on November 23, 2009 claimed the lives of 58 persons, among them 32 journalists and media workers, during an election-related coverage.
It is considered as “the deadliest pre-election violence in the Philippines, and the most brutal media killings in a day worldwide.”
Fifteen years hence, we continue to pay tribute to our colleagues who lost their lives in the Ampatuan Massacre, the statement said.*
