The Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc. (NWTF) is set to build a new Dungganon Youth Hub Library and Co-Working Space at the Bantayan Park in Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The building, which held its groundbreaking on Wednesday, is a donation of the NWTF to Bago City, aiming to provide a modern space for the youth and a venue for learning, collaboration, and innovation.
Marking her first 100 days as the City Chief Executive of Bago, Negros Occidental, Mayor Marina Javellana-Yao noted that the hub is a ‘memorable gift’ of the foundation to her administration that champions the “May Gugma nga Panghimanwa” brand of governance.
“This is good governance in action – resourceful, transparent, and caring. Always remember, this is not just for me, but for all Bagonhons,” she expressed.
NWTF Executive Director Suzette Gaston, a proud daughter of Bago, said the project aims to plant the seed of new opportunities for the youth and the community.
During the first three months of Javellana-Yao’s administration, she pushed to bring social and health care services to the upland areas of the city, established a grassroots initiative for sports, and made her city business-friendly.
To publicize the mayor’s accomplishments and plans for her first 100 days, she will deliver her State of the City Address on October 17.*
