Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya said that an Office of the Building Office (OBO) employee has responded to the show cause order (SCO) issued, for allegedly soliciting funds from a client.
According to reports, the SCO was issued due to a complaint regarding OBO employee, engineer Isidro Sun Jr., asking for P11,000 in order to release an occupancy permit.
Gasataya said that Sun replied with a written answer that was forwarded to the City Legal Office (CLO). In a series of interviews with the local media, Sun denied the allegations, and said that “it was getting personal.”
“We only act on what we received in the complaints. Someone complained here, we acted on it, we documented it,” CLO head Karol Joseph Chiu said in an interview.
Meanwhile, an investigation of another employee from the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources with the same case has also been ongoing since the term of former Mayor Alfredo Benitez.*
