Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday downplayed the discovery of two ammunition of 9mm pistol at the Food Terminal Market of Occidental Negros, in Bacolod City on July 3.
When asked if there is a threat to him, Lacson said “I don’t want to overthink.”
Stressing that it was already referred to Police Station 2, he said “let them do their investigations.”
Renelo Lastierre, head of the Capitol Security and Safety Division, disclosed on Wednesday that a person connected to a military intelligence unit claimed ownership of the bullets, saying it fell from his bag, on the same day it was found.
Lastierre declared it as “case closed,” as far as his office is concerned.
He maintained that he does believe that the intention or motive of the bullets, was a form of threat to anyone in the provincial government.
“I’m not even thinking about it,” Lacson said, in reply to a question where the threat angle originated.*
