
Katharine Lou Maniego (Entry # 44) of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City was the grand prize winner of the 3rd on-the-spot MassKara Painting Competition, besting 59 other participants from 24 barangays in the city.
Maniego took home P15,000 in cash.
Tey Sevilleno, president of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros, led the awarding of the winners at Robinsons Place-Bacolod on Sunday.
Charlein Joy Daulong of Barangay Handumanan (Entry #41) won second place and was awarded P10,000 in cash prize, while Gil John Cadivida of Barangay Estefania (Entry #8) won third prize and received P5,000 in cash prize.
Consolation prizes were awarded to Richelle Baldomar of Barangay 15, Alfred Esparcia of Barangay 9, Marven Galea of Barangay Sum-ag, Edward Ellison Olita of Barangay Estefania, Joshua Decolongon of Barangay Mandalagan, John Paulo Pacete of Barangay Granada, Leopold de la Cruz of Barangay Handumanan, Mycel Sampang of Barangay Granada, Rodly Monserate of Barangay 7, and Abs Andrew De la Peña of Barangay 11. All consolation prize winners received a P1,000 cash prize each and certificates.
The event was presented by the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros in partnership with Bacolod Yuhum Foundation and the City Government of Bacolod.*
