A distraught family in Negros Occidental is pleading for assistance to locate their father, who went missing during a ferry trip from Batangas to Caticlan on the night of December 13.
The family of Danilo Villaluz is in a state of panic after his personal belongings, including his mobile phone, ID, cash, and shoes were found abandoned on the vessel, while he remains nowhere to be found.
According to his family, he boarded a ferry from Batangas Port bound for Caticlan.
He was traveling home to Negros due to a medical emergency involving his eldest child, who is currently confined at the South Bacolod General Hospital.
He was last heard from via a phone call, where he appeared in good spirits and excited to return home, and even sent photos to his family before stating he was going to sleep.
“Our father never goes anywhere without his bag,” the family said in a social media appeal.
The family has already coordinated with SFI Caticlan and checked with relatives in Manila and Iloilo, but no leads have surfaced.
They are appealing to the Philippine Coast Guard, port authorities, and the general public for any information on his whereabouts.*
