An ordinance creating the Bacolod Public Skate Park Rules and Regulations, was passed on first reading by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.
Authored by Councilor Jason Villarosa, the proposed ordinance provides guidelines that will serve as the general basis for the usage and management of the Bacolod City Public Skate Park in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.
The proposed ordinance will be known as the “Bacolod Public Skate Park Ordinance.”
It provides for the creation of the Bacolod Public Skate Park Committee and its duties, to be headed by the city mayor as chairperson, with the SP Committee on Tourism chairman as vice chairperson. The members will be composed of the City Tourism Officer, City Health Officer, City Public Information Officer, and three representatives each from the private sector to be selected by the mayor.
The proposed ordinance provides that no individual will be allowed to use the skate park who are below 18-years-old, unless accompanied by a guardian. No individual will use the facility without proper safety equipment, or those with dangerous accessories, and no one will be allowed to use the skate park after 10 p.m.
Those violating the ordinance will be imposed the following penalties: First offense – an individual will be banned or disallowed entry in the skate park for 24 hours. Second offense – an individual will be banned or disallowed entry in the skate park for 168 hours or one whole week; and for the third offense – an individual will be banned entry in the skate park for one whole month.*
