More than a thousand employees of Concentrix Bacolod were inoculated during the city’s first site-based night shift vaccination drive Thursday*

Some 1,028 workers of Concentrix Bacolod were inoculated against the coronavirus disease 2019 during the city’s first site-based night shift vaccination drive Thursday.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who led city officials in observing the rollout, said the city government is reaching out to call center employees assigned on graveyard shift as it acknowledged the vital contribution of the business process outsourcing industry to the local economy.

“We saw their enthusiasm to get vaccinated so we are going out of our way to serve the BPO workers,” Leonardia added.

The on-site vaccination for call center employees is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

In a statement, Concentrix Bacolod site director Paul Anthony Espeleta said this is the first-ever site in the country to carry out a night shift vaccination drive.

“Considering the supply challenges with vaccines, we are grateful that economic front-liners from our industry have this support, as part of A4 category, he said.

Similar night shift vaccination drives will also be conducted in other BPO companies.

Aside from the graveyard shift workers, more than 4,000 BPO firm employees, also from Concentrix, Teleperformance, PanAsiatic Solutions, Transcom, IQOR, Ubiquity, and ARB Call Facilities have already availed of Covid-19 jabs from the city government.

Leonardia, who chairs the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force and the Covid-19 Vaccination Council, and City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of EOC and coordinator of CoVaC, also oversaw the vaccination flow for employees of Focus Direct at Ayala Malls Capitol Central yesterday, a press release from the city said.

The project is a partnership between the Bacolod City government and the BPO company.

Supervising from Focus Direct are regional assistant site director Purple Jamonong, Finance head Reynee Talisay, Facility director Joanne Balugo, Human Resource manager Ryan Caro, and head nurse Jasper Bidad.

Balugo said they are expecting to inoculate more than 400 employees.

Focus Direct is a privately-owned call center service provider, specializing in multi-product telesales and customer relationship management.

Aside from Ayala Malls, simultaneous vaccinations were also held at CityMall Goldenfields, CityMall Mandalagan, and at SMX Convention Center.*PNA
