The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has deployed a total of 369 Philippine National Police personnel to secure the FIBA Under-18 Women’s Asia Cup – Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) Qualifiers from June 2 to 6.
A total of 36 personnel, including EOD/K9 units, are stationed at the main tournament venue at the STI West Negros University Gymnasium.
Another 24 officers will be stationed to guard the delegate hotels, while the additional 30 were deployed during the welcome party at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday.
The comprehensive security layout also mobilizes 215 anti-criminality personnel for foot and mobile patrols, alongside a 64-member specialized unit handling border control, quick response, and bus security for the estimated 300 international delegates.
Meanwhile, a temporary road closure will be implemented along Hilado Street (L.N. Agustin Drive to Lopez Jaena Street) from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on June 2-6.
Bacolod City Administrator Atty. Mark Steven Mayo confirmed that five countries, consisting of the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia are set to compete starting today, June 2.*
