Over P900K shabu seized in Bacolod

• THERESA MAE DULMAN

Authorities seized P952,000 worth of suspected shabu from a high-value individual (HVI) following a buy-bust operation yesterday in Purok Cereza South, Barangay 3, Bacolod City.

The sting operation resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect identified by his aliases ‘Bryan’ and ‘Jenjen,’ an unemployed resident of the area.

Despite his high-value classification due to the volume of drugs handled, Bacolod City Police Office Director PCol. Eugene Rebadomia noted that the suspect was not previously listed on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council watch list.

The operation, led by the BCPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, yielded an estimated 140 grams of suspected shabu.

Operatives recovered a cache of illegal drugs split into five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and two large, knot-tied transparent plastic bags, all containing the white crystalline substance.

The marked buy-bust money and several non-drug items were recovered from his possession.

The suspect was brought to Police Station 2 for formal documentation, while the recovered narcotics were forwarded to the PNP Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

He faces charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
