
The Office of the Vice President (OVP), distributed food assistance to the families in Bacolod City who were affected by the floods due to the Southwest Monsoon or Hangin Habagat last Friday.
Through the OVP-Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office, relief boxes containing blankets, slippers, mats, hygiene and emergency kits, and food packs, were provided to 746 household families from nine barangays.
The affected families are from barangays Bata, Banago, Mandalagan, 3, 8, 10, 13, 17, and 21.
Meanwhile, the OVP-Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office had also distributed livelihood assistance to 509 individuals under the Mag Negosyo Ta’ Day (MTD) program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) from 2024 to July 2025.
Each beneficiary received P15,000 and came from the areas of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Iloilo, Antique, and Aklan.
Several of the beneficiaries have been visited by the OVP staff for monitoring. All of them happily shared that their profitable businesses have continued to grow.*
