OVP marks one-millionth tree

Vice President Sara Duterte led the nationwide PagbaBAGo Tree Planting Campaign on October 15, marking a monumental milestone with the planting of the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) one-millionth tree.

The Office of the Vice President – Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office, on the other hand, also took part in the nationwide PagbaBAGo Tree Planting Campaign on 15 October by holding a tree planting activity in Bacolod City.

Meanwhile, the symbolic activity, held at Cesar C. Climaco Freedom Park in Barangay Pasonanca, Zamboanga City, signifies the OVP’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, and community participation through its flagship PagbaBAGo Program.

According to a press release, the achievement is even more remarkable as the OVP and its partners reached the one-millionth tree mark in just three years, accomplishing in half the time what was originally projected to take six years.

Since its launch, the PagbaBAGo Tree Planting Campaign is made possible through thousands of volunteers, students, local government units, and private partners nationwide in collective efforts to rehabilitate watersheds, protect biodiversity, and promote climate resilience.*
