Vice President Sara Duterte met with the head of the OVP PNI Satellite Office in Bacolod City yesterday, to discuss preparations for any possible eruption of Mt. Kanlaon.
Duterte said that in case of any evacuation, the Panaad Stadium will serve as a temporary shelter for the affected families. The OVP Satellite Offices in Bacolod and Panay will be ready to provide support in terms of food and non-food relief, as well as medical assistance and doctors.
She also came to Bacolod yesterday to accompany doctors from Davao for a mass operation of children with hare lip or cleft palate at the Bacolod Medical Adventist Hospital.
Duterte said she met one of the 130 patients in a motorcade during the 2022 campaign in Bacolod. After getting his details, a doctor from Davao referred him to a plastic surgeon from Bacolod. He still needs a follow-up operation for his cleft palate.
Meanwhile, Duterte said they also distributed Magnegosyo Ta Day assistance yesterday in Bacolod wherein individual entrepreneurs received seed capital for their businesses.
A group of mushroom growers in Bacolod also received additional capital of about P150,000 for their association, she added.*
