The Ponce Group of Companies and the St. John’s Institute (SJI) Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) donated four oxygen concentrators to the Bacolod City Government, during the vaccination drive at the SJI campus Wednesday.

Of the four oxygen concentrators, three are from the Ponce Group, and one is from SJI PTA.

Representing both donors are Marigold Ponce, franchisee of Ponce Group Food Division and president of SJI PTA. Also joining them are officers of the SJI PTA.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, chair of the Emergency Operations Center, received the donation with Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy medical of EOC.

The equipment will be turned over to the Emergency Operations Center for the use of COVID-19 patients at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities.

On the same day, the city also conducted a drive-thru and on-site vaccination at SJI, inoculating about 700 parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees of the school, as well as employees of the Ponce Group of Companies, Lopue’s Mandalagan and Lopue’s East.

Meanwhile, the Jollibee Food Corp. also distributed 100 packed meals for vaccination volunteers.*
