More than P500,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by the police from five arrested drug suspects in Negros Occidental over the weekend.
Assisted by the local police, operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office yesterday arrested two drug suspects during a buy bust operation at Purok 3 in Brgy. 1 poblacion, Kabankalan City.
The arrest of Richard Olarte and Jerry dela Cruz, both residents of Bacolod City, yielded 40 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P272,000 and P500 in marked money, according to a report of the Kabankalan City Police Station.
Another drug suspect identified as Celso Alvarez, alias Toto, was apprehended yesterday by the police during a buy bust operation at Purok Neptune in Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod City.
PCol. Thomas Joseph Martir, Bacolod City Police Office director, reported that the arrest of Alvarez, 43, yield an estimated 16 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P108,000, P150 in cash and P500 in marked money.
Another buy bust operation at Purok 6 Litub, also in the same barangay, led to the apprehension of Willyzer Colango, and the confiscation of 26 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P176,800 and P600 in marked money.
The apprehension of another drug suspect identified as John Ryan Sarahina at Eusebio St in Brgy 3, Silay City, also yielded seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600, and P2,600 in marked money.*
