P0.8M shabu seized in weekend ops, Silay SK kagawad arrested

Anti-drug operations over the weekend saw authorities capturing a Sangguniang Kabataan Kagawad of Barangay 2 in Silay City, while P374,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in the town of EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.

In Silay City, an operation carried out by the police resulted in the arrest of alias ‘Matthew,’ 24, a resident of Kalye Onse, Barangay 2, and an SK Kagawad of the barangay.

During the operation, police were able to confiscate from the suspect’s possession 4 sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 7 grams, with a standard drug value of P47,000.

The arrested SK Kagawad will face administrative sanctions and criminal charges in violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

P374K IN EB MAGALONA

The EB Magalona Municipal Police Station arrested a 39-year-old man, classified as a high-value individual, and seized suspected shabu valued at around P374,000 in a buy-bust operation on Saturday morning.

The arrested suspect was identified as alias ‘Augusto,’ a resident of Hacienda Banilad 1, Barangay Nanca, in the municipality of EB Magalona.

Authorities recovered approximately 55 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect and other non-drug items were also confiscated during the sting operation which was conducted at around 9:20 a.m.

The suspect was apprehended after he sold a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected illegal drugs to a police poseur buyer in exchange for the marked buy-bust money.

Augusto is currently detained at the EB Magalona MPS lock-up cell.

P.5M IN BACOLOD

The Bacolod City Police Office arrested four drug suspects and recovered suspected shabu with a total estimated value of P530,400 in two separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City.

The first operation took place at approximately 3:31 a.m. on Saturday in Purok Kabuhi, Barangay 10.

Operatives from the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust, apprehending two suspects, both residents of the area.

The arrested individuals were identified by their aliases: ‘Julian,’ 33, classified as a high-value individual, and ‘Nick,’ 20, classified as a street level individual.

Authorities recovered approximately 70 grams of suspected shabu from their possession, with an estimated value of P476,000.

Meanwhile, on Sunday morning at approximately 5:45 a.m., operatives of Police Station 1 conducted the second buy-bust in Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14.

The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspected street level individuals, identified as alias ‘Jose,’ 24, and alias ‘Lyod,’ 37, both residents of the same barangay.

Authorities confiscated approximately 8 grams of suspected shabu during the operation, with an estimated value of P54,400.

The four suspects are currently under the custody of their respective police stations pending the filing of formal charges.

All arrested individuals are set to face severe charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
