More than P1.3 million worth of suspected shabu was recovered by the police on March 1 in Bacolod City and Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, following the arrest of two drug suspects.
A buy bust operation on Saturday in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, led to the arrest of a 22-year-old that yielded 157 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,067,000.
A raid conducted by the police also on Saturday, at a residence in Sitio Lugway, Brgy. Gargato, Hinigaran, also led to the arrest of a certain Bimboy, a 34-year-old tricycle driver, for illegal possession of firearms.
Incidental to his arrest, the police also recovered about 45 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P306,000, and the recovery of a homemade shotgun with ammunition.
Also on March 1, the police arrested a certain alias Levy at Sitio Tugbungan in Barangay Andulauan, Ilog, that resulted in the recovery of an estimated 1.3 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P8,840.
A series of police operations on Feb. 28 in Valladolid, the cities of Talisay, Cadiz, and La Carlota in Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of five suspects, including a student, yielding about six grams of a combination of shabu and dried marijuana leaves with a market value of P30,000, and a 9mm Black Widow revolver with six ammunition.*
