Barangay Tangub, the reigning MassKara Festival arena and street dance champion, has secured a P1.5 million subsidy to represent Bacolod City for an invitational performance on January 18 at the upcoming Sinulog Festival in Cebu City.
Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Jose Marty Go confirmed that the city accepted an official invitation from the Sinulog Festival Director.
The P1.5 million allocation is earmarked to cover the travel and operational costs for the 200-member contingent.
This includes expenses for transportation, allowances, and logistical requirements for the dancers, propsmen, barangay officials, and personnel from the Bacolod Tourism Office.
The group is scheduled to depart for Cebu on January 16, ahead of their performance in the Sinulog grand parade and arena competition on January 18.
Go noted two other pending invitations for Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City on January 23 and Hong Kong in February, but the city has yet to provide a formal commitment.*
