The Bacolod City government has allocated a total of P1,787,100 to fund the deployment of ‘Blue Guards’ to secure the Bacolod City Public Plaza.
The budget will cover 24-hour security services starting from June until December.
City Administrator Atty. Mark Steven Mayo previously stated that a total of six security guards will work in shifting schedules to ensure continuous monitoring and safety within the plaza grounds.
Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya stated that they also intend to extend the deployment of private security personnel to other government-owned establishments.
Prior to this allocation, security monitoring in the area was left solely to Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) personnel.
Meanwhile, POSO Officer-in-Charge Patrick Halili said that six personnel have been deployed to secure the plaza and 14 others to Bacolod City College.*
