Authorities seized over P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested three high-value individuals (HVIs) in two separate buy-bust operations conducted in Bacolod City on Wednesday evening.
The back-to-back stings, led by the Bacolod City Police Office under the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region, resulted in confiscations totaling approximately 270 grams of illegal drugs.
The first operation occurred at approximately 11:43 p.m. in Purok San Roque, Barangay Tangub, where operatives from Police Station 8 apprehended two suspects identified as alias ‘Ar,’ 26, and ‘Van,’ 38, both residents of La Carlota City.
Police recovered roughly 150 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,020,000.
Four large sachets, three knot-tied bags of suspected shabu, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone were also seized.
Meanwhile, at around 11:50 p.m., a second team from Police Station 2 and the City Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a follow-up operation in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 that resulted in the arrest of alias ‘Rus,’ a 22-year-old tricycle driver.
During this sting, officers confiscated about 120 grams of suspected shabu valued at P816,000, along with several sachets and plastic bags containing the illegal substance.
All suspects face formal charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
