Policemen on Monday night seized about P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu from two drug personalities who were arrested during a buy bust operation in Bacolod City.
In a report, the Bacolod City Police Office said that operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Richard Legada arrested two drug suspects identified as July Gustilo, alias Toto, and Antonio Pasustento Jr., both residents of the barangay, during an anti-drug operation at Purok Manayawsayaw in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The apprehension of the two drug suspects yielded about 270 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,836,000 and marked money of P1,000.
On the same day, a suspect identified as Niño Castro was arrested after he shot at a policeman during a buy-bust operation at Purok 6 in Purok Magsungay, Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Castro, who was chased down by the unhurt policeman and his colleagues, was later cornered at the house of a certain Melba Montepio, where he tried to seek refuge.
After peaceful negotiations, the suspect gave up to the police and surrendered a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition.
It was found by the BCPO that Castro has been previously arrested for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
