P1.9M in shabu seized

The arrest of a businesswoman and five other drug suspects in series of buy bust operations on October 24 and 25, in Negros Occidental, and highly urbanized Bacolod City, respectively, yielded more than P1.9 million worth of suspected shabu.

Policemen arrested Marijo Acuña, a 37-year-old businesswoman, and Denmark Liscano, a high value individual in illegal drug activities, during a buy bust operation at Yapquina Subdivision in Brgy. 3, Victorias City, on October 25.

The apprehension of Acuña and Liscano, after selling two sachets of illegal drugs in exchange for P25,000, yielded about 200 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,360,000, two cellular phones, P1,100 in cash believed to be proceeds from sale of illegal drugs, and an improvised homemade shotgun with two ammunition, among other items.

Another buy bust operation also on Oct. 25 at Purok Tangigue, Brgy. 1, Bacolod City, by the City Drug Enforcement Unit resulted to the confiscation of about 77 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P523,000.

Nabbed was Joelibert Sancho, alias Mikmik, 31, also considered by the police a High Value Individual in illegal drugs.

Also recovered were P250 in cash and P1,000 in marked money.

Two other drug suspects identified as Eliver Julleza and Renze Dajeno were also collared by the police in Hinigaran and Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Taken from Julleza during a buy bust operation in Brgy. II, Hinigaran, were three sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,475, marked money of P500 and P390 in cash.

On the other hand, an estimated 1.5 gram of suspected shabu with a market value of P10,200, marked money of P500 and P574 in cash believed to be proceeds from selling of illegal drugs, were also recovered from Dajeno, following his apprehension in Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City on Tuesday.

In Cadiz City, Jerry Sedurifa was apprehended by the police in another buy bust operation on Monday at Punta Cabahug in Brgy. Zone 6.

Recovered were 1.5 gram of suspected shabu with a market value of P10,200 and P500 in marked money, police said.*
