Policemen and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday seized an estimated two kilos of suspected shabu during a joint buy bust operation at Sitio Tul-an in Brgy. Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The police reported that the confiscated shabu had a market value of P13.6 million.
Arrested during the buy bust operation was identified as Rex Baron, of Fatima Village in the barangay.
Baron, 49, has been categorized by the police as a High Value Individual drug suspect.
Also recovered during the buy bust operation were P6,600 in marked money and a computer laptop bag.
PLt. Ruby Aureta, deputy police chief of San Carlos City, however said the main subject of the buy bust operation, whose identity she withheld, managed to escape.
Authorities have yet to determine the origin of shabu taken from the arrested suspect.
Another drug suspect identified as Amer Arsinio was arrested by the police in another buy bust operation on June 13 in Hacienda Paco, Brgy. Aguisan, Himamaylan City, also in Negros Occidental.
The apprehension of Arsinio, alias Bombay, 19, also yielded an estimated two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P13,600, and P500 in marked money.
The two arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
