A joint operation of the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Brgy. 1 poblacion, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, yesterday led to the confiscation of suspected shabu, worth P13.9 million, and the arrest of a High Value Target (HVT) drug personality.
Nabbed during a buy-bust operation conducted by the San Carlos City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 6, and PDEA 6 was Emmanuel Siaboc, alias Eman, listed by the police as an HVT, while a certain William Allones, alias Bebe, managed to escape.
The buy-bust operation yielded 2.050 kilos of suspected shabu, worth P13,940,000, P200,000 in buy-bust money, including P100,000 boodle money, as well as P500 subscribed money.
P/Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6, said yesterday that the recovered shabu in San Carlos City, and two kilos of shabu taken from the slain drug suspect in Brgy. Magatas, Sibulan, Negros Oriental Sunday, appeared to have originated from the same source.
Malong also said police probers noted a similarity in the packaging of the shabu and mode of transporting the illegal drugs.
The confiscated shabu from slain drug suspect Joemarie Manayon Yongco, of Brgy. Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, has a market value of P13.7 million, P/Col. Arnel Banzon, provincial police director of Negros Oriental, said.
Also on Sunday, police seized about seven kilos of suspected shabu, worth P47.6 million, from three arrested suspects in Cebu City, that also came from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The illegal drugs seized in Cebu were reported by the police to have been picked up from a ship from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, that docked at the Toledo port in Cebu.
P/Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, Western Visayas police director, congratulated the operating troops for the successful operation.
“We will be more exacting in our campaign against illegal drugs, and we will go after high value individuals in the region,” Pamuspusan said.
Policemen also arrested a certain Jay-R Roa during buy-bust operation yesterday in Brgy. 2, Silay City, Negros Occidental, that also yielded about eight grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P54,400.*
