Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday returned to Ilog, Negros Occidental, and distributed more financial assistance to 2,944 families affected by Typhoon Odette in December last year.
Lacson led the distribution of P14.7 million financial assistance from the National Housing Authority at Ilog municipal gym and Dancalan covered court, both within the municipality. A similar distribution of financial assistance also took place at the Canlamay covered court, also in Ilog.
This was on top of P12.7 million worth of house construction materials and food packs distributed by the provincial government on Feb. 2.
Each typhoon-affected family yesterday received P5,000 in financial assistance.
Ilog Mayor Paul Alvarez, who and Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, assisted in the distribution of NHA financial assistance, again thanked the provincial government for the support extended to Ilog residents.
Lacson said he is scheduled to distribute the NHA Special Emergency Housing Assistance Program to typhoon-affected families in Cauayan, Sipalay and Isabela, next week.
We will distribute all of the P91 million NHA financial assistance, he added.
Early this week, Lacson also distributed P4.95 million to 990 typhoon-affected families in the cities of Cadiz and Victorias, as well as Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.*
