P176K in shabu, gun seized in police operations

The arrest of four drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations on February 15 and 16 in Negros Occidental, yielded about P176,800 worth of suspected shabu, police said.

A buy-bust operation at Elena Subdivision in Brgy. 5, Silay City, yesterday led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified as Andrew Adelantar, 42.

Policemen recovered about 12 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P81,600, P600 in buy-bust money, a Samsung cellular phone, and P52 in cash during the apprehension of Adelantar, who is now locked up in jail.

An earlier buy-bust operation also resulted to the arrest of Jerrycho Daquiado at Sitio Barra in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City.

The apprehension of Daquiado yielded P61,200 worth of suspected shabu and its paraphernalia, and two cellular phones, police said.

Two more drug suspects are now locked up in jail, after being arrested on Feb. 15 in Escalante City and Valladolid, Negros Occidental.

Two sachets of suspected shabu with a market value of P816, P1,000 in marked money and assorted paraphernalia, were recovered by the police during the apprehension of Bernard Bernales in Brgy. Old Poblacion, Escalante City.

Another drug suspect identified as Juvelyn Villanueva was also arrested by the police during a similar buy-bust operation at Zone 1 in Brgy Tabao Proper, Valladolid.

The police seized five grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P34,000 and P1000 in marked money from Villanueva, who is now detained at the custodial facility of the Valladolid Police Station.

Fernando Vinarta, 51, was also arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Groupduring an entrapment operation on Feb. 15 in Sitio Mabucano, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City.

The entrapment operation of CIDG, assisted by the Talisay City Police Station and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, yielded a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing four ammunition, P18,900 boodle money and P100 marked money.*
